Here are some steps that we at Echelberger and Associates have taken to protect our staff, our clients and their families as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 situation:

  • We are not conducting any in-person meetings at this time and most of our staff have been working at home since last March.
  • We have installed a locking drop box next to our front door to make it easier to drop off documents.
  • If you call ahead, you can arrange a quick pick-up in our office. We ask that you wear a mask and observe all reasonable physical distancing practices.
  • We can deliver your returns to you electronically so you can review your return, print and sign the e-filing authorization forms—return the signed forms by mail or put them in our locked drop box.
  • Please email or call and let us know if you need to arrange for a paper copy instead. We understand that electronic won’t work for everyone.
  • If you can scan or produce high quality aligned pdf images, we can provide you with simple instructions to electronically send documents to us using our secure file exchange. Poor quality images or jpeg files (as created by phone photos) will delay the preparation of your return. You must collect all your tax forms in individual files and then send them to us all at one time. The only exception should be for those late arriving K-1s or corrected broker statements. We are not set up to receive one document at a time as that will impact the time and cost of preparing the return plus it increases the possibility of information being inadvertently overlooked. The tax organizer and signed engagement letter should also be included unless it has already been delivered to our office.
  • We have found the Postal System to be frustratingly unreliable and slow. Please use tracking when you send us any tax documents. As we get closer to deadlines, we discourage mailing of any time-sensitive documents.
  • To streamline things for both you and us, we can now accept online payments. We encourage you to use the eCheck feature at no additional charge. An additional 3.5% charge will be automatically added to credit card payments.
